The sea is in approx. 15 km distance in Rasafjord and on the west-coast at the town Fazana in approx. 20 km distance. Istria has always been one of the best developed districts in the east Adriatic sea. During Titos era, when Yugoslavia was still one state, about 80% of all Western tourists came to this peninsula. Big hotels and campingsites have been built. Today Istria is even more popular than Dalmatia or Montenegro. Unfortunately prices for real estates are nearly twice as high in Istria as in Dalmatia. Supply and demand is making the price. The demand for property on this peninsula is very high because of its short distance to Italy. Italian people have always been trying to get real estates there. No suprise as there has been a common border for a long time. Even Parts of Istria were temporary national territory
