According to the management plan of the Council of the Solina district

The district of SOLINA

It is located in the Podkarpackie province, in the south-east of Poland, in the heart of the Bieszczady Mountains. It has about 5.300 inhabitants. The capacity of the lake is about 500 million cubic metres, the depth at the dam is 80 metres. Water is very clean; there are different kinds of fish. Over 500 sailing and other boats are on the lake in summer. The whole lake area is considered as a zone of silence, motor-boats are forbidden.
The areas of Solina are the most frequently visited in Poland during holidays (over 500.000 people). The Bieszczady are well insolated, with very clean air, and therefore, many illnesses can be treated here.
For that reason, there are many well-known health & holiday service centres. ‘Polanczyk’, situated on a 34-hectare island encircled by the Solina lake, is the most famous. This area is also very popular among Ukrainian and Russian tourists.
Rich flora and fauna, mountain landscapes, monuments, unique geological formations, unspoilt nature characterized by large forests and the absence of industrial structures attract painters, photographers, huntsmen, anglers and everyone who is looking for silence and peace. Those lands are attractive all year long. There are 120 days with snow cover.
